About the Voice of Prophecy – “Equipping the World for Christ to Come”
The Voice of Prophecy exists to proclaim the everlasting gospel of Christ—leading people to accept Jesus as their personal Savior and nurturing them in preparation for His soon return.
The Voice of Prophecy has been a leader in religious broadcasting for more than 90 years. Founded in 1929 by H.M.S. Richards, Sr., the ministry focuses on producing Christ-centered media that focuses on God’s love, heralds His soon return, and provides hope to broken people and guidance for daily living. Its leadership continues today under Speaker/Director Shawn Boonstra and Associate Speaker Jean Boonstra.
Supporting local church evangelism is central to our work. Hundreds of churches across North America use Voice of Prophecy media and evangelistic resources to reach their communities for Christ in engaging, effective ways. Our Discover Bible School supports local branches in more than 2,000 churches in North America, with hundreds more around the world. Its time-tested Bible lessons are available in more than 70 languages and in a variety of easy-to-use formats, both print and digital. Finally, our humanitarian projects in countries such as India and Myanmar are meeting physical as well as spiritual needs. As the Voice of Prophecy looks to the future, we will continue to focus on sharing the love of Christ with a hurting world, while using present tools and anticipating yet-to-be-developed technology.

About Our Speakers
Ken is the new speaker/director of the Voice of Prophecy. In March of 2025 Ken joined the ministry as director of the Discover Bible School. He has a deep passion for equipping the laity in Bible study and small group ministry. With pastoral experience in Florida and Tennessee, he and his wife, Julie, have also served as missionaries in Thailand and Palau. Most recently, Ken has served as president of Guam-Micronesia Mission and the Montana Conference. Now residing in Loveland, Colorado, Ken and Julie enjoy hiking, biking, pickleball, and FaceTiming with their two young adult children, Ken and Michelle.
Jean Boonstra is executive producer and departmental director for Discovery Mountain. A frequent speaker at women’s retreats, Jean encourages women in how to follow God’s call on their lives. A prolific writer, Jean creates engaging stories that encourage families to exercise their faith. Jean and her Discovery Mountain team release two faith-filled Discovery Mountain audio episodes each week for the podcast and the Discovery Mountain Club.
X serves as the Director of the Voice of Prophecy Bible School and has a deep passion for equipping the laity in Bible study and small group ministry. With pastoral experience in X and Y, he and his wife, Z, have also served as missionaries in T and P. Most recently, X has served as president of W Mission and the C Conference. Now residing in Loveland, Colorado, X and Y enjoy a,b,c.
Kurt provides guidance for the Voice of Prophecy’s over 2,200 Discover Bible Schools in North America, as well as thousands of other like-minded Bible schools throughout the world.
About Our Ministry Representatives
ADA SWANSON
As planned giving department director, Ada relies on her vast experience with the ins and outs of planned giving to serve those who faithfully support the ministry via planned gifts.
Eddie Schwisow
Eddie provides leadership for the public relations department. In his role, he seeks to ensure that both the church and general public are aware of the valuable resources the Voice of Prophecy has developed.
